When you become pregnant
After a hospital confirms your pregnancy, please come to the Maternal and Child Health Section to report your pregnancy.You will receive a Mother and Child Health Handbook and health checkup coupons.
The Mother and Child Health Handbook is a small but important book that helps you keep track of your pregnancy, childbirth and your baby’s health checkups, vaccinations and health status until he/she enters elementary school.
This handbook is available in many foreign languages (English, Korean, Chinese, Tagalog, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese and Nepali) for our foreign residents.
As for the health checkup coupons, you can use these coupons when visiting a hospital from the period of your pregnancy until your child is eleven months’ old.
Hours and locations for receiving the items
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.to 5 p.m., Maternal and Child Health Section (Health Center 1F)
- Sunday, 8:30 a.m.to 5 p.m., Child Services Section (City Hall 2F)
Note: Closed on Saturday, Sunday and year-end/New Year holidays.
What to bring
- Documentation that confirms your pregnancy (patient ID card, receipts, health checkup appointment slips and the like from your obstetrician/gynecologist)
- My Number card (individual number card)
If you do not have a My Number card, please bring the following two items.
- My Number notification card or a copy of your residence record that shows your individual number
- Personal identification (driver’s license, passport, residence card, etc.)
