Elections

Elections are held to choose local representatives of the people.
For example, if you want a park built or a road widened, it is not possible for everyone who has the same idea to gather and hold a discussion.Instead, you choose one person with similar views as yourself, and the chosen person participates in discussions as a representative.
Those with Japanese nationality who are age eighteen or over can vote in Japanese elections.
Those eligible will receive a notification by mail when an election nears.
