Support for the disabled（services）

Services are available for people with physical, intellectual and mental disabilities.You must apply to receive these services.Some services may not be available depending on the type or grade (severity) of disability.

Disability handbook

Disability handbooks are small notebooks that certify that you have a disability.You can receive various services if you have a disability handbook.
For more information, please contact the Welfare Support Section for the Disabled.

1. Physical disabilities:Having difficulties or paralyzing to perform daily activities and maintaining posture due to impairment of bodily functions such as of arms and legs
2. Intellectual disabilities:Having difficulties adjusting one’s behavior and life to society and other people due to intellectual developmental delays
3. Mental disabilities:Having various difficulties in social and daily life due to a lot of anxiety and nervousness

Financial support

The following expenditure costs could be reduced when:

• making prosthetic devices
• installing handrails on the walls of your house
•  riding buses and cabs
• paying for hospital visits

Other support (services)

• assistance with bathing, toilet, eating, etc. at home
• assistance for the vision impaired when they need to go out
• assistance for the hearing impaired with sign language interpretation
• rehabilitation and independence training at facilities
• assistance living at a group home for the disabled
