- Prepare an emergency backpack for evacuations.
- Secure drawers and shelves, and make sure objects will not fall.
- Discuss with family members about the best way to keep in touch.
- Become familiar with warning levels.

- Become familiar with evacuation shelters and temporary retreat centers.
1 Prepare an emergency backpack to bring when evacuating that contains:
- Drinkable water (three liters per person per day)
- Food
- Flashlight
- Small radio
- Charger
- Clothing and shoes
- Matches, lighters
- Candles (that do not topple easily)
- Medicine, bandages, masks
- Ballpoint pens, memo pads
- Umbrellas, raincoats
- Tissue paper
- Money
- Other items you consider necessary
Note: If you have to evacuate, remember to bring valuables such as your residence card.
2 Secure drawers and shelves, and make sure objects do not fall
- Use metal fittings to fasten drawers and shelves to the walls.
- Place heavy objects on the bottom parts of drawers and shelves.
- Do not place objects that pose danger when they fall in high places, such as at the top of drawers or shelves.
- Take measures to prevent the glass of cabinet doors from breaking and falling.
- Make sure that glass plates and cups do not topple or fall.
3 Discuss with family members about how to contact each other

4 Become familiar with alert levels
